It takes hundreds of volunteers to turn an empty airfield into one of Oregon’s most unforgettable events.
Whether you love working with guests, supporting a team behind the scenes, inspiring young people in our STEAM Center, or helping build the show from the ground up, there is a place for you here. No aviation or event experience is required. We provide the direction and training you need.

IS VOLUNTEERING AT THE AIR SHOW RIGHT FOR YOU?
Air Show volunteers come ready to work, help others, and be part of a team. Most assignments are approximately eight hours and may involve extended standing, walking, or working outdoors.
You may catch some incredible moments in the sky - but your first responsibility is helping your team deliver a safe, welcoming, and successful event.
MINIMUM AGE: 16
EXPERIENCE: None required
TYPICAL SHIFT: Approximately 8 hours
TRAINING: Online and on-site
COMMITMENT: One day (multiple days encouraged)

Every successful Air Show depends on volunteers working across the event—from welcoming the first guests through the gates to preparing the airfield and keeping essential people and supplies moving. Explore the areas below to find the kind of work that best matches your interests, abilities and experience.
Help create a smooth, welcoming experience from the moment guests arrive. Volunteers in this area scan tickets, assist with bag check, answer questions, provide directions and help guests navigate the event.
These positions are ideal for friendly, dependable people who enjoy interacting with the public. Most assignments require prolonged standing and working outdoors.

Welcome Our Guests
Help guests feel welcomed, informed, and well cared for throughout the event. Hospitality volunteers greet guests, verify credentials, assist with seating and keep hospitality areas stocked with necessary food, beverages and supplies
These positions are well suited to volunteers who are attentive, service-minded and comfortable working in a fast moving guest environment. Food service assignments require a current Oregon food handler card.

Deliver Exceptional Hospitality
Help transform the airfield into an event—and return it when the show is over. Ground Operations volunteers assist with setup, teardown, equipment movement, signage and preparation of event spaces.
This is one of our greatest areas of volunteer need. These assignments are physically active and may involve lifting, substantial walking, working outdoors and serving before or after public show hours.

Sign installation and management
Build the Show
Help transport volunteers, hospitality personnel and essential supplies safely throughout the event site. Transportation volunteers may operate approved shuttles, vehicles or golf carts along designated event routes.
These roles require careful attention, good judgment and comfort navigating an active event environment. Volunteers must have a valid, active driver’s license and receive approval before operating an Air Show vehicle.

Keep the Show Moving
Help young people discover the possibilities of aviation, aerospace and STEAM. Volunteers assist children and families with hands-on activities, organize materials and support an engaging educational environment.
These opportunities are ideal for patient, encouraging volunteers who enjoy working with young people. Certain assignments involving children may require a background check.

Inspire Future Aviators
Help take care of the volunteers and event spaces that keep the Air Show operating. These volunteers welcome team members at check-in, distribute shirts and credentials, respond to changing needs and help maintain clean, safe and welcoming event areas.
This area is a great fit for organized, flexible volunteers who are willing to step in wherever support is most needed.

FUNDRAISE FOR YOUR NONPROFIT
Eligible non profit organizations may apply to complete an assigned volunteer commitment in exchange for a stipend.
